"When my principal sent me the application…I was shocked. I clicked the link and started to read the requirements. Not until then, had I realized the amount of work I was putting into a K-5 STEM experience for my students. Sometimes as educators we just do because it is what is best for students, our school culture, and the community we reside in. We take very little time to recognize the hard work and dedication for ourselves. It has been extremely rewarding to be recognized for the multitude of hours in dedication and hard work in ensuring students see problems from all angles and solve them with creativity and ingenuity. STEM is a mindset that all students should experience. It brings out the best in them and it brought out the best in me.”
